3D organs

One of the first groups of researchers that got the impression of organs in 3D made a small artificial-functional kidney. Although even today has not been implemented in hospitals, the prototype was able to filter toxins from the blood, so if the technique was perfected, it could solve the lives of those people who live pending machines of dialysis and transplant waiting lists.
Scientists have managed to develop functional ovaries, totally healthy ones. In fact, after being implanted in mouse females, they were able to ovulate, become pregnant and give birth.

One example of the advance was to get an exact replica of Parker's skull printed and, therefore, they could practice the intervention before carrying it out. The operation was finally a success and the doctors were able to extract the entire tumor
Another achievement has been the creation of foetuses. They created identical replicas of the foetus based on the sonography images. This could alert of the possible deformities or complications during the labour and the specialists could act faster than with ultrasound.
